Magna-Safe Industrial & Sanitary Mixers are 100% Leak Proof!

Posted on by Sara Springer

MagnaSafe Top Entry MixerMagnetic Driven Mixers by MagnaSafe

The primary advantages of sealless designs are the elimination of vapor leakage & product contamination. The magnetic drive (similar to mag-drive pumps) eliminates the need for mechanical seals. This results in lower maintenance costs, fewer spare parts, and decreased downtime. MagnaSafe covers all their products with warranties and support documentation.

Benefits of Seal-less Mixing Technology:

  • Leak proof: prevents product contamination
  • Increased operator safety
  • SIP/CIP capable
  • Maintenance free design
  • High pressure/high temperature design

MagnaSafe offers re-engineering for converting existing mixers to magnetically driven units. Support & Documentation available for all MagnaSafe products and for re-engineered mixers.

A Magnetically Coupled Centrifugal Pump that Really Runs Dry by Renner

Renner Cut Away RM-TS Pump

RM-TS: The First Magnetically Coupled Centrifugal Pump Without A Sleeve

Continuous Run Dry Capability:

Conventional magnetically coupled pumps are not designed for dry run situations.  Renner presents a totally new type of magnetically coupled centrifugal pump that works without any sleeve bearing.  This is the first time this type of bearing is used with magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps.  The coefficient of friction for this new type of bearing is so low only minimal heat is generated.  The bearing does not require any cooling or liquid lubrication.

The below video shows one of these pumps running completely dry for 10+ minutes. You don’t need to watch the whole thing. It just proves the point.

Renner TS Run Dry Pump Demo 6,000+ hours and counting

Features & Benefits:

  • Simple and Reliable Design
  • NO Liquid Cooled Sleeve Bearings.
  • Increased Efficiency by using Bearings with an Extremely Small Coefficient of Friction.
  • No Metal in the Wetted End: Extremely High Resistance to Chemicals.
  • All present pumps of the RM-type can be adapted, upon request, to this new system to become absolutely safe to run dry.
  • Available for High-Speed Operation

Liquiflo’s POLY-GUARD Pump: Metallic Pump Performance – Sealless, Plastic Pump Cababilities

Posted on by Sara Springer

Sealless, Non-Metallic Wetted Parts with Metallic Gear Pump PerformanceLiquiflo Poly Guard Pump

The Liquiflo POLYGUARD has NO metallic wetted parts, a mag-drive coupling with a PFA lined Containment Can and a stainless steel housing lined with PFA.  Poly-Guard combines the chemical resistance of a fluoropolymer with the strength of stainless steel. Max temperatures to 200° F & differential pressures up to 100 psi.

Typical Applications: inorganic acids, difficult to handle bases or salts, Hydrochloric Acid, Ferric Chloride, Sulfuric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Sodium Hypochlorite, Nitric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide and Chromic.

POLY-GUARD Features & Benefits:

  • Internal/external protection against corrosive fluids & harsh environments
  • Strong stainless steel body:
    • Handles pipe stresses & other harsh industrial conditions
  • Fluoropolymer lined for protection against corrosive liquids
    • Exempt from wicking problems associated with fiber-reinforced housings
    • Retains the pressure integrity expected of all metal pumps
  • Internal components: PEEK, Kynar (PVDF), Teflon, Silicon Carbide and TTZ
  • Pulseless flow for metering & transfer applications
  • Temperatures to 200° f
  • Differential pressures up to 100 psi
  • Available removable port fittings including flanges & sanitary ports
  • Self-sintered SiC shafts with exceptional chemical resistance & wear resistance
  • Alloy-C or carbon fiber Containment Cans lined with PFA:
    • “Alloy-C Can” limits eddy current development & subsequent heat generation
    • “Carbon Fiber Can” eliminates eddy currents altogether!
